United’s fifth signing of the summer, Ethan Robson, spoke to us shortly after penning a two-year deal.
He said: “I’m delighted to get it done, managed to train with the lads this morning, pre-season is underway and I'm looking forward to it.
It was just sort of an introduction to the weeks ahead, but I think next week we're going to pick it up and obviously looking forward to going to Scotland as well.”
Speaking on his new teammates, Ethan added: “It was great, they all seem like top lads and I'm sure I'll settle in quickly.”
“I started through Sunderland, been on loan a few times, played for Blackpool, obviously at MK Dons last season and had a promotion under the belt as well, which is always good on the CV.
“It's definitely something I'm looking forward to, playing for Carlisle, and I really can't wait for the start of the season.”
The midfielder appeared 34 times for MK Dons last term, when asked if he’ll be looking to feature a similar amount this campaign, he stated: “Yes, definitely, obviously I know what the league's about, so I'm going to bring that sort of experience and hopefully we have a successful season.
“I'm energetic, don't mind a tackle, can get forward and get back, help the team and hopefully I can nick a few goals as well.”
Speaking on his aims during his spell here, Robson said: “Obviously, I know everyone says promotion, but that's definitely got to be one of the goals and we really need to have a successful season, obviously chip in with goals and assists and really help the team, so hopefully it will be a good time at Carlisle.”
United’s 2024/25 shirts launched this morning, speaking on them, Ethan said: “They’re really good, they obviously fit nice and I'm sure the fans will like them as well. The away kit's a bit different, but it's nice.
After our Sky Bet League Two opener against Gillingham was confirmed, he said: “It should be a tough game, obviously they're an established team, but I don't think we can fear any sort of team in this division and we'll be going there to get the three points."
Finally, our new number seven said: “I can't wait to see you all here and hopefully we can give you an exciting season and have a successful one.”
