Following our loss to Bradford City, we spoke to Mike Williamson.
Speaking to CUTV, he said: "Just really disappointed with how we changed after the goal. I think the first-half, there was nothing really in it. I think we both had half-chances. Obviously, there's a coming together and they had probably the best chance of the half. But after that, I thought we controlled a lot of it without creating any clear-cut chances.
"We've got to do the fundamentals, the basics. We have to do it consistently better for the whole game because we're getting punished, switching off in the box, not marking. The goal goes in, but then it knocks the wind out of our sails and it shapes the game.
"There was positives with the new group. It's going to take time. We haven't got that. But disappointing that we've just got to make sure that we see games through with just how we start games and maintain that and don't allow anything to get in our way.
"I mean, obviously, everybody was desperate for that goal to just go ahead and settle everyone into the game.
"Joe [Hugill] put in a real shift and you could see he's threatening. He's going to get goals when he gets chances. So, we'd need to create more clear-cut.
"Again, for me, the real disappointment, they're a good team. We have to give credit. It was a real difficult game, but they just do the simple things really well through the whole game and we switched off and we gifted them that goal and then we lost our way and that's what we've got to make sure that we stay focused with.
"They will never give you half a yard and you've got to win everything and we did that in the first-half.
"We did it really well - we ran, we fought, we picked up a lot of second balls and I said before the game, the team that is strongest in transition I think is going to win the game and over the course of the whole game, I think they get that because of their energy.
"We have to show them because there are certain things that we did really well in the first-half that in the second-half when the pressure increases and obviously the situation we're in, it feels a lot worse.
"In that moment, you've just got to clear the lens and make sure that you keep doing the things that got you the success that we had in the first-half.
"We didn't create as many chances, but we have to have confident in each other that they will come if we keep doing the right things, but if we come away from doing the right things and we lose that concentration and then we lose our lack of threat and then the whole game changes.
"They killed the game really well, which is part of the reason they're up there because they're so good at what they do. They've got that football intelligence collectively.
"I think for us, it's a case of making sure that we stick to how hard we work picking up those second balls. We need an intention to want to play forward quicker, and I think that's where we start.
"We've just got to make sure we come back and watch it back and really tighten up because I don't think we got beaten by a team that was running over the top of us and had quality and we couldn't get near that.
"We allowed them and that's the frustrating thing because the first-half there was nothing in it, but then in the second-half we allowed it, so it turned out the game died after 55 minutes, but that's up to us."
Speaking on United's debutants, Mike said: "Lots of positives that I'll be speaking to the lads about, but we have to focus on getting rid of the soft underbelly and making sure that we just do the fundamentals.
"First off, we earned the right, we earned the right and we looked good as a result of it.
"Second half, we didn't and that's what we've got to look at."
Paul Dummett was absent from this afternoon's squad after being involved in a car accident on Friday.
"He's okay. He had a car accident, so he spent the day just getting a few tests done, but no, he's healthy, so he should be back in training Monday and he'll be fit for next weekend."
Finally, Williamson stated: "There was some positives that came out of the performance. We know we've got a lot of ground to make up and we'll do that, but I thought the fans were excellent. I thought they could see how hard the lads were working and we need them more than ever. I thought they were brilliant, so we have to stick together and keep working."
