Dear all United fans,
As we get set to kick-off the 2024/25 league campaign and our supporters get ready to attend EFL League Two matches in their thousands, we are all united by a renewed sense of hope and optimism for a fantastic season.
At the same time as towns and cities up and down the country have been busily preparing for football’s return, we have unfortunately witnessed some unsavoury scenes that nobody wants to see a repeat of, now or anytime in the future. Through the power of the club's badge, football has a unique ability to bring people together.
Over many years United have aimed to create a sense of belonging for people from all backgrounds and provide positive and memorable experiences.
Whether that be on a Saturday afternoon at Brunton Park, on away days or through the range of outreach programmes we have in operation through the Carlisle United Community Sports Trust.
Our city and club are inclusive spaces for everyone. Carlisle's strength lies in our unity and community spirit. Racism, violence, vandalism, and disorder have no place here or connected with our club. We want to make it absolutely clear that the disorder, violence, and damage occurring elsewhere are not welcome in Carlisle or on the road, and we urge our supporters not to get involved. Please do not risk facing serious legal penalties and sanctions.
Chairman Tom Piatak looks forward to the season but also has expressed his deep concern over the recent scenes of disorder across the UK and has called on Carlisle fans to exemplify the spirit of being "All United" by remaining uninvolved in such activities and to refrain from participating in any form of disorder.
Tom Piatak stated: "In my short time at Carlisle, I have come to understand that this city is home to a diverse community that has thrived together for many generations. My family and I, along with the club, are deeply concerned about the violence that has erupted across the country. Such actions should never be tolerated or accepted, regardless of who is involved or which community they come from.
"We are committed to ensuring that such incidents do not occur in Carlisle or involve any of our supporters. We are proud to be a member of your community and we aim to use our platform to support local people alongside providing a sense of identity, family, and togetherness. It is that football and community spirit that continues to win hearts and minds and why we must do whatever we can to look after and protect it.
"We are very excited for the future of the club and the season ahead. So much good is going on and our future is bright.
"Starting tomorrow at Gillingham and in the season ahead, let us demonstrate what our fans and our club stand for. We are stronger when we stand together—"All United" come what may. We are one club, one city, one community.
"See you at the Priestfield to back the Blues!"
