Tom Piatak said: "As chairman of Carlisle United, I am thrilled to see the completion of our brand-new hospitality lounges in the East Stand - a project that has been 25 years in the making.

"The stand, which has stood as an untapped asset for all these years, is now home to the Cumbria, United, Boardroom, and Chairman’s Lounges. These new spaces not only provide an exceptional matchday experience for our guests but also signify the club’s forward momentum and commitment to enhancing both the facilities and the overall atmosphere at Brunton Park.

"We couldn’t be prouder to finally bring this vision to life."

All four new hospitality lounges on the second floor were open, all fully booked and operating at capacity for the opening day.

The new United Lounge is an informal sports bar style area, offering high tables, lots of TVs to watch pre-match sport, plus high-quality food.

On Saturday, it hosted Story Contracting staff and subcontractors all involved in the construction of the new facilities.

A huge thanks go to:

Story Contracting - main contractor - special thanks to Craig Nicholson.
UJP Unwin Jones - architectural and project design services and project management for the club - special thanks to Don Reay.
JJ Group - mechanical and electrical.
PMS Fabrications - structural and steel services.
Donley's - quantity surveyor services - special thanks to Mike Story
Astaura - interior design and furnishing - special thanks to Gary Cranston
Peter Tyson - electrical appliances

Plus the many other staff and businesses who have contributed.

The new Cumbria Lounge sponsored by Kingmoor Park was also open for the first time. This is a tabled dining area with pre-entertainment and competitions.

On Saturday, Dean Walling, George Oghani, John Halpin, Derek Walsh and Les O'Neill were the star attractions. Again the lounge was a sell-out for the match.

These brand new, superb high quality lounges, more than double the hospitality capacity at Brunton Park. They provide much-needed additional space given that the West Side hospitality areas including Foxy's and the 74/75 Lounge, continue to be hugely popular and are already sold out almost every week.

The new facilities are of a very high standard and elevate what the club can offer to a completely new level. These stand alongside the eight new hospitality boxes on the third floor of the stand, which have been open since the beginning of the season.

The club is now taking bookings for the United Lounge and Cumbria Lounge sponsored by Kingmoor Park, for all future fixtures, including our FA Cup clash against Wigan Athletic.

To book, email commercial@carlisleunited.co.uk.

The facilities are also available to hire for parties, functions and business events on non-matchdays, if you're interested, please contact catering@carlisleunited.co.uk or call 0330 094 5930 (option 6).

To showcase the facilities, the club is to host an open evening for businesses and commercial sponsors on Friday 25 October from 18:30, where existing business supporters and those businesses interested in getting involved with the club can come and experience the fantastic new facilities.

For businesses interested in attending on Friday, please email commercial@carlisleunited.co.uk or call 0330 094 5930 (option 3).

The club will also be opening it's doors on Wednesday 30 October for an open day as part of its Festival of Football initiative with Tullie House.

On that day, fans will be able to come and see all the new facilities for themselves as well as there being an open training session taking place, plus lots of attractions for all the family.

Chief Executive, Nigel Clibbens said: “Saturday was a fantastic day for the club off the field.

"The opening of these superb new facilities provide a brilliant matchday experience for supporters, and really puts the club on the map as the go to venue on a non-matchday.

"The transformation of the East Stand in such a very short time has been spectacular and it’s something that everyone at the club is really proud of. I’m sure when fans come and enjoy them, they will be proud too.

"The investment from ownership in less than a year is there for everyone to see - it will stand the club in good stead for decades to come. This is all part of the plan to invest on and off the field to take the club forward.

"We want Brunton Park to be the place to be on a matchday and for everyone to be looking forward to coming, enjoying a great time in outstanding facilities. On the other days we are now also capable of offering first-class venue facilities for businesses and events.

"We can wait for all the fans, businesses and wider community to see what we have to offer and join us in future."
