LADIES PREVIEW: WHITEHAVEN (H)

.

Carlisle United Ladies face fellow Cumbrians, Whitehaven AFC Ladies, at Creighton this Sunday.

United come into this game off the back of a weekend without football with last Sunday’s clash against Clitheroe Wolves Ladies not going ahead, due to Clitheroe leaving the league.

This means that the Blues have now lost 6 points this season, due to no fault of their own.

Carlisle have had a largely positive start to 2025 but will be looking to put things right from last time out, when they lost to Stanwix Ladies at Gilford Park.

Although United have been plagued by injuries and have a small squad going into Sunday’s game.

Sunday’s opponents are no stranger for the Blues with United’s first game of the season being away at Whitehaven.

The reverse fixture saw Carlisle pick up a point on the road in a 2-2 draw, Chelsea Norris and Victoria Riddet scoring United’s goals.

Whitehaven currently sit 4th in Lancashire Women’s County League Premier Division with 23 points.

United will know that a home win could see them move as high as 7th.
