KADEEM HARRIS SPEAKS AFTER SIGNING CONTRACT EXTENSION

.

After agreeing a new deal until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, we spoke to Kadeem Harris.

Speaking to CUTV, he said: "I'm buzzing, buzzing to get it over the line finally. Now it's just full concentration for these next four months.

"We've got a big job in hand, so happy to be part of it."

When asked to talk us through the decision process, he responded: "I think that song at the weekend that was sung for me helped, but yeah, like I say, quite a few things from day one.

"Since I've come into the building, I've been showing nothing but love from the players, from the gaffer, staff all around the place and the fans especially as well. So for me, it was a no-brainer."

"I want to be part of this. They've shown me a lot of love, like I say, and I want to repay them now with something to cheer about come the end of the season."

Speaking on discussions with Rob Clarkson and Mike Williamson, he said: "They've both been great. Before I came here, I heard nothing but good things about the gaffer from various players that played under him. Since I've come, he hasn't disappointed. His attention to detail and his relationship with all the lads, he's been great for me.

"Rob has been amazing as well since he's come in. We've had some good talks and it made my decision much easier."

Harris made his United debut back in early November in our 1-0 victory at Salford City.

"The fans were great that day and they have been great ever since. I think we've got the best fans in the league. Again, that made my decision easier. Playing in front of these fans week in, week out, it's a joy.

"I'm happy to be part of it and do that for the next four months now."

During Saturday's victory at Fleetwood Town, the Blues' faithful made it clear were they stood in regards to Kadeem's future, chanting "ten more years, Kadeem Harris", when we brought this up, Kads said: "The fans have been like a 12th man. When I heard that song, it did bring a smile to my face. I think I was down injured at the time as well, so it made the injury go away. That was great and it was good to be a part of Ceds' (Cedwyn Scott) goal.

"I'm happy for him to get his first goal and hopefully he can bring a lot more come the end of the season."

Looking ahead to tomorrow's trip to Notts County, Harris said: "It'll be a tough one but with the quality and the talent that we've got in this changing room, I don't think any game in this league is too tough for us.

"We've got a very talented group and it's just another game that we've got to go and win. We've got to win our personal battles and hopefully we can play some good football and get them three points and leave with a smile on our faces."

Finally, Kads had the following message for supporters, saying: "Thank you for the support. You've been great. You've been a 12th man for us. Keep coming in numbers and thank you for the love you've shown me personally and that love is definitely reciprocated."
