Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that defender Jack Armer has joined Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.
Armer, 23, joined United in the summer of 2020 after being released by his boyhood club Preston.
The left-sided defender made 172 appearances for United during his four seasons at Brunton Park.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “We’ve strengthened the left side of the defence by bringing Cameron Harper in, and I want a group of players who are totally committed to this football club.
“It wasn’t part of our plans to sell Jack, but with the options we have in his position, when we got offers from Burton it was something we listened to.
“After a few days of negotiations, we got to a point where it was a good deal for the football club and also something Jack wanted to explore, so we allowed it to happen.
“Jack was a mainstay during our promotion season, and he was part of the plans going forward, but we’re now in the process of changing the whole look of the squad.
“We all thank him for his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the best for the future.”
