Carlisle United have been drawn at home against Stoke City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The two sides last played each other in the 1985/86 league season and have never faced each other in a cup competition.
Manager Paul Simpson said: "I think that's an excellent draw for us. It's a good first game at Brunton Park for the fans and it makes a really nice change to be drawn at home in a cup competition."
The tie will be played W/C 12 August.
Full ticket and fixture details will be confirmed in due course.
