St Catherine's Catholic Primary School narrowly missed out on semi-final qualification in the EFL Kids Cup League Two North Regional Final on Thursday 20 March.
The Penrith-based school had earned the right to represent Carlisle United after victory in the Local Club tournament in November.
A point was the difference in the group phase as St Catherine's Wembley dreams were ended at the Stanley Sports Hub in Accrington.
St Catherine's were beaten 1-0 by eventual competition winners Tranmere Rovers in the opening game but regrouped to defeat Salford City 2-0 in their second fixture.
An incredible finish from the byline saw the United side lose 1-0 to Port Vale in a tight match before picking up another three points in a close encounter against Crewe Alexandra with a header from a corner late on, giving the Blues outfit a chance of qualification going into the last game.
But Harrogate Town proved too strong, and their clinical finishing saw them beat St Catherine's 2-0 and grab second place by a point, which secured their path into the semi-finals.
The United team should be incredibly proud of their performance with some admirable determination and skill on display against some of the best Primary School sides in the North of England.
Carlisle United Community Sports Trust Community Coach, Lewi Coupland-Nunn said: "It was a commendable effort from the St Catherine's team who have done outstandingly well to progress so far.
"The high standard of football on the day was a joy to watch, and the lads very much played their part in a great event.
"St Catherine's should be very proud of their team and their achievements this school year."
St Catherine's Catholic Primary Schools Assistant Headteacher, Nic Proudfoot added: "We had a fantastic day at Accrington.
"It was a well-organised competition, which was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils.
"They all had a great time meeting and competing against some of the best teams in the north."
