Carlisle United are hosting a moment of prayer and contemplation this Sunday to mark COVID-19 Day of Reflection 2025.
The event will take place in the Memorial Garden at Brunton Park from 3pm to acknowledge and reflect on the loved ones lost during the COVID-19 pandemic and also those who have passed away in the last 12 months.
David Allen, Senior Pastor at Elim Community Church, will lead the service, which is an important opportunity to support those affected by the loss of life since the start of the pandemic and recognise its impact on the local community.
Carlisle United Chief Executive, Nigel Clibbens said: "We are now nearly four years on from the first COVID lockdown.
"While the pandemic may be over and becoming a distant memory for many of us, many are still living with its devastating impact from those bereaved to those living with long COVID and those traumatised by their experiences of working on the frontline.
"The Day of Reflection is for us all, acknowledging the need to remember and reflect on the experience and impact it has had."
EDI lead for the Club and Community Sports Trust, Teresa Mulholland added: "We are taking a moment of reflection to remember those we have lost to COVID-19.
"Football unites us, we want to take part in the national COVID-19 Day of Reflection to offer our thoughts and prayers to the community as we stand together in remembrance, paying tribute to the lives that touched our community."
