Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Charlie McArthur on loan from Newcastle United until the end of the season.
McArthur, 19, began his career with Kilmarnock. He made four appearances for the Scottish side.
The Magpies spotted the young defender and brought him to the club in July 2022, beating a host of clubs to his signature.
During his spell on Tyneside, he's featured in the UEFA Youth League and Vertu Trophy picking up vital experience.
This campaign, he's been a regular in their youth side and has been played consistently in PL2, where he’s scored twice in eight games.
McArthur has also represented Scotland at both U17 and U19 level, playing a total of 16 times.

"We are really thankful to Newcastle for giving us the opportunity to help with his development.
"He's got all the attributes you need to be a top centre-half."
Sporting Director, Rob Clarkson said: "Charlie is a really talented centre-back who is highly thought of at Newcastle.
"He is very comfortable on the ball so will suit our style of play.
"We thank Newcastle in allowing us to bring Charlie here until the end of the season."
