ACADEMY ORGANISING 'WALK FOR WILKESY'

On Saturday 5 October, our Academy staff and players will be taking part in a fundraising mental health walk around Derwentwater, at Keswick. This will be in memory of our former Head of Coaching, Dave Wilkes.

The walk is open to all Academy players, parents, club staff and any fans who would like to come along.

It will start at The Theatre By The Lake (CA12 5DJ) at 10am on the day. The route will be the 15km Derwentwater circular trail, and we advise that you bring the appropriate footwear and clothing for this event.

Academy Manager, Steven Rudd said: “Dave was a hugely popular figure at Brunton Park for many years. He was extremely successful in his many roles and impacted so many lives in such a positive manner, he is still sorely missed.

"By completing this walk annually, it allows us to remember Dave and all the good times he brought, but also allows us to raise both awareness and funds for the clubs supported charities

"We are really looking forward to having the full Academy together to complete the walk and know that Dave will be very proud that we are raising money to make other people’s lives better”.

The money raised will support Andy's Man Club and the initiatives that the Community Sports Trust run.

If you would like to support our cause by either joining us at 10am on Saturday 5 October, starting from The Theatre By The Lake on our walk, or by donation, please see the link below for further details: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/matthew-scandle
