The under-11s, under-13s and under-15s have recently returned from a successful tour of Ghent, Belgium.
37 players spent four days in February half-term travelling to Belgium where they played fixtures against K.A.A. Gent & K.V.C. Westerlo. All fixtures were played in excellent competitive spirit at very good facilities against some of the best teams in Belgium at their respective age groups.
As part of the trip, our teams also completed a stadium tour of K.A.A. Gent - who were recently knocked out of the Europa Conference League, spent some free time in Ghent with friends and done some team bonding activities such as bowling and a football quiz morning.
Speaking on the tour, Academy Manager, Steven Rudd said: "Our players were a credit to take away on tour. They represented the club, the community, their families and most importantly themselves to an excellent level - gaining experiences and memories that will last forever.
"The skills the players developed over the four days both on & off the pitch are invaluable - from timekeeping, organisation, communication, independence, teamwork and resilience, they are skills they will continue to use as they go through life.
"A big thank you must go to parents for supporting the tour and to SLT Tours who organised the itinerary and made sure everything ran smoothly."
