Under new ownership, we are investing heavily in the team, our staff, and the facilities at Brunton Park with a strategic focus on solidifying our foundations for long-term success and prosperity.
As part of the restructuring, there will be necessary changes to streamline our operations for greater cohesion and efficiency.
One area of particular focus is to bring Carlisle United and our Community Sports Trust (CUCST) closer together, to be more effective and impactful.
As part of that plan, we have implemented an internal change in our club EDI structure.
This means the role of club volunteer EDI and Mental Health Officer that Nigel Davidson has undertaken, will no longer be part of our revised club internal staffing structure.
Previously, Nigel undertook this position on a voluntary basis with Teresa Mulholland working for CUCST.
All of the club’s EDI-MH activities have now been placed within the remit of the CUCST - rather than the element being undertaken by both.
It’s now responsible for:
- All the club’s obligations for EFL EDI-MH compliance https://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/siteassets/documents-2223/efl-code-of-practice-requirements-2022.pdf
- Implementation of the club’s EDI strategy https://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/siteassets/documents-2324/231017-equality-action-plan-2223--eap-oct-2023-1921.pdf
- Club EDI contacts network and events programme
- Club EDI social media
- Club EDI email account
- Club EDI matchday activity, including Block 8 outreach and management
- Club Disability Access Officer role
Teresa Mulholland will take over as club and CUCST EDI and Mental Health Lead.
She can be contacted on the same EDI email account below:

The club would like to thank Nigel for all his work over the last few years.
We couldn’t have achieved what we did in this area without his work, culminating in the club being awarded EFL Bronze Standard in 2023.
Best wishes and thanks to Nigel.
