Look out for West Cumbria Search and Rescue who will be doing a bucket collection ahead of the game on Saturday.

Lea Somerfield from West Cumbria search and rescue said: “West Cumbria search and rescue respond to missing people to find and save life. We are tasked by blue light agencies.

We also have swift water rescue capabilities this means our team can carry out searching on water and also respond to flooding events our organisation is made of people from all walks of life that all have a passion for helping our local community.

"At the game we will have seven officers in uniform with collecting buckets to help raise funds towards new equipment for some of our new flood water rescue technicians”

Cumbria Fostering Service in the Fan Zone

Cumbria Fostering is looking for people to change children’s lives, and their own, this New Year

Is fostering your goal in 2024? By becoming a foster carer with Cumbria Fostering you could make a difference which lasts a lifetime.

With more children in care than ever before and fewer people coming forward to foster, we have an urgent need for more carers for children of all ages in Cumbria. Helping to make even a small difference to a child's life is hugely satisfying and all of our carers receive an outstanding package of training, support and mentoring.

Foster carers need to be aged 21 and over, have at least one spare bedroom, time to care for a child and a willingness to understand young people who have experienced trauma and loss.

If you are interested in finding out more come along to our fostering information stand on Saturday 27 January at Carlisle United's Fanzone at Brunton Park from 12.30pm to 3pm.

For further information contact Cumbria Fostering today on 0300 013 2065 or register your interest at cumbriafostering.org.uk
