United face Exeter City this afternoon - and manager Paul Simpson is expecting a test from Gary Caldwell's side, who look to play in an attractive way.
"They're a good footballing team and Gary has them playing out from the back," he said.
"He's changed shapes recently and I think they're struggling with a few injuries at the moment.
"They're a club who are probably more established in League One than we are, but they're having a tough time just as we are.
"We need to go there and make it as difficult as we possibly can. The home crowd will certainly be expecting a home win and will be looking at this as an opportunity to push us down and push them up the table.
"We've just got to make sure we're prepared right, we go into it with confidence and the belief we can take from the Port Vale game, and hopefully pick up where we left off."
Simpson added: "We're in tough situation, we know that. We're 25 games in, we've got 21 games to go and they're all important for us.
"We look at the run of games coming up and there's some really exciting games to look forward to.
"But this is the first one and it's a great opportunity for us to go above them and we know that will happen if we win the game. We just have to make sure we're ready for it."
United are once again set to be backed by strong travelling support, with Simpson hoping to send them home happy.
"Every game we've had this season, home and away, our support have turned out in numbers," he said.
"I look at the attendances we had leading up to Christmas and then the one against Port Vale - that's absolutely fantastic.
"They're paying their money to come and watch a team that's having a tough time, but I think they saw on Monday that the players are committed to it.
"We're all absolutely committed to changing our fortunes and this weekend will be no different.
"We know we'll get good support because they travel absolutely everywhere and we need to do something that makes them happy at the end and makes the journey home a lot better."
