Paul Simpson offered an update on the club's activity in the transfer market after the defeat at Exeter City.
"There’s a couple that we’re trying to do," he said.
"Then we’ll reassess it from that point and see where we are.
"I’ll say it again, the league table doesn’t tell lies, we are where we are because that’s the sort of performances and results that we’re giving out.
"We’ve got to dig deep, we’ve got to continue to work hard, and maybe even work smarter and hope we can get some faces in that are going to help us."
And while efforts continue to add the squad, Simpson and his side are turning their attentions to the visit of Oxford United to Brunton Park on Saturday.
"We’ve got to get results," he added.
"We’ve got to get wins, it’s as simple as that.
"We’ve got to make sure we use our enthusiasm that we’re getting from our supporters for our benefit.
"Today [at Exeter] we haven’t. We’ve had fantastic support, again, on this journey, and we haven’t used it to our benefit."
