David Pearson has been chosen as Carlisle United’s Community Captain.
David has won the award, which is part of the Premier League’s ‘More Than A Game’ campaign, after working tirelessly to take every opportunity for his pupils at Robert Ferguson Primary School, which sees them participate in sporting events around the north Cumbria area on a regular basis.
As a PE coordinator, he puts the importance of physical, mental, and social well-being high on the agenda for his students.
His school has engaged in the Premier League Primary Stars program every year since its inception, as well as having a well-rounded and robust PE curriculum.
David has also helped run his local men’s senior amateur team for a number of years on a voluntary basis, as well as working for Carlisle United’s charity ‘The CUFC Community Sports Trust’ at their school holiday soccer camps.
He is one of 4119 people supported by Carlisle United CST on the Premier League Primary Stars program in Cumbria.
“We are delighted that David has been awarded Community Captain for Carlisle United,” said Community Manager James Tose.
“The award is fully deserved for David’s community engagement through his work at Robert Ferguson Primary and his commitment to helping the local community”
