Last night, we caught up with Tom Piatak, before himself and Patty travelled back to the USA.
Speaking after our Sky Bet League One clash was called off, he said: “The trip has been fantastic. Patty and I have been here for two-and-a-half weeks, spending a lot of time getting to know the staff, which has been very important and doing some things behind-the-scenes.
“The performance on the pitch has not been there, but I was really looking forward to tonight. I thought tonight was going to be the breakthrough, so this is crushing for us.
“We’re heading to the airport tomorrow morning, Patty and I are flying back to the States but Jenna [Piatak] and Nick [DeMasi] will still be here.
“I was really looking for a result tonight and I think the team was ready.
“I have all the confidence in Jenna and Nick, they’ll be here Saturday for the game against Cambridge, which should be a fantastic match.
“We wish we could be here, and actually thought about cancelling the flight and rescheduling, but we do need to be back over there for a little bit.
“I just told Paul [Simpson], this is a shame, but Patty and I are just a flight away and we can be here, if needed for any reason."
