Carlisle United are away at Penrith AFC on Thursday in their last game of the current campaign.
In what is the last game of a difficult season in so many ways for Carlisle United, due to the injuries, illnesses and match postponements resulting in rearrangements, the Ladies are looking to end the season on a high.
Carlisle are looking to end the season with a victory, after last Wednesday's defeat at the hands of Workington Reds, and are hoping to reverse the outcome of the last time these two sides met in the Cumberland County Cup Semi-Finals a couple of weeks ago.
Penrith AFC Ladies are currently in second place in the table, after their last game which they defeated Morecambe FC away from home by a scoreline of 2-1, with goals coming from Abbie Forster and Heather Fawkes.
That victory against Morecambe came in a run of four wins in their last six games, the other two games ending in defeat. The victories coming against Penwortham Town (5-1), Radcliffe FC (3-1), Accrington Stanley (3-1) as well as that win over Morecambe last time out. The two defeats coming against champions Mancunian Unity, the home game ending 1-4 and the reverse fixture ending in a 3-0 defeat.
Last Time We Met
The last time we faced Penrith AFC was in the Semi-Finals of the Cumberland County Cup where Carlisle lost 2-1 at Frenchfields a couple of weeks back, with Jodie English scoring both goals for Penrith and Olivia Clapperton responding for Carlisle who were unable to fight back from two goals down.
