The Cumbrians are at home on Sunday again as they welcome Penwortham Town in a double header matchday at Creighton.
The double header is something which Carlisle United could do without, especially having struggled recently with injuries to players. That has meant development squad players have had to step up to the plate, and they have done well in the games in which they have been called upon.
A week on from their narrow defeat at the hands of Preston North End Ladies, a game which finished 2-1, Carlisle are hoping to take advantage of these two matches against the side directly above them in the table.
Penwortham Town, who lay in 11th, were victorious in their last fixture at home to Fleetwood Town Wrens Reserves, after a 5-3 win.
That victory last weekend for our visitors was their only win in the last six league games, having drawn one and lost the other four. The draw came against Radcliffe (1-1), and the defeats came against Fleetwood Town (0-2), Penrith AFC (1-5), Workington Reds (0-7), and Radcliffe (1-5).
Last time we met
This is the first time this season that these two sides will meet, and with two games on the same day, it could be advantage to either team with six points up for grabs.
