YOUTH: Shrewsbury

To say this was a strange game would be an understatement!

United actually played extremely well, but we were on the wrong end of a series of first-half spot kicks.

There were four awarded in total, with the away team finding the net with all three of theirs, as the Blues missed the one they'd been given.

Youth boss Mark Birch said: "It sounds strange to say after a defeat but I come away feeling really pleased with what I've seen overall.

"There was improvement in performance from every player and in every area of the pitch.

"Josh O'Brien was sent off, that was nothing to do with any of the penalties, and we had chances we missed which made things more difficult.

"I can't disagree with any of the penalty decisions, it was just one of those days."
