Jordan Gibson has been nominated for the Sky Bet October Player of the Month award.
The nominations are below:
Jordan Gibson (Carlisle United) - winger
The 25-year-old accounted for all of his side’s six goals in October, which brought seven points. He scored five from his position wide on the right, including a hat-trick in the 3-1 win at Bolton, while his cross brought the winner against Burton.
Luke Leahy (Wycombe Wanderers) - central defender
Having transferred his cult hero status from Shrewsbury to Wycombe, Leahy has reverted to a ball-carrying central defence role to cover injuries, but still managed a stunning free-kick and a rasping 20-yard drive among his four goals and two assists.
Alfie May (Charlton Athletic) - striker
Dropped into a new role behind Charlton’s main striker by Michael Appleton, May’s poaching ability to sniff out chances has been enhanced, while his lightning reflexes remain as sharp as ever, calmly slotting home seven goals in six games.
Conor Shaughnessy (Portsmouth) – central defender
The summer arrival from Burton has forged an understanding with Regan Poole which contributed to three clean sheets in five games. Just as important were the two commanding headed injury-time winners against Wycombe and Carlisle.
The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
