MANAGER: We're going to have to see who we can get out there

Paul Simpson will be able to call on the services of Alfie McCalmont for Tuesday evening's Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie against Harrogate Town.

The midfielder is currently serving a three-game suspension but the United manager confirmed that he was able to feature in the final group stage game of the competition.

Joe Garner will also be eligible for selection despite picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Bristol Rovers, with that one-game ban set to cover the visit of Charlton Athletic on 25 November.

But the Blues will be without full-back Jack Robinson who is suspended after being booked in both previous group stage games.

"Again it's going to be a situation of counting the heads," explained Simpson as he looked ahead to the tie.

"I was always going to be playing the strongest team available on Tuesday and that's exactly what we'll have to do because we don't have any other options.

"We need a performance to get a result, and if we get a result it will give everybody a bit of confidence, and a bit of belief, to take into next week."

One player set to play some role against Harrogate is Dylan McGeouch - who impressed on his first league start for the Blues and was named as Vesta Wealth Man of the Match.

And the summer signing will be called upon again in midweek as Simpson continues to deal with injuries in the camp.

"We are going to need him, he’s a good experienced pro," said Simpson of the Scot.

"He’s had a disappointing time so far but we are going to need him. We’ll have to get him recovered because we’re going to need him on Tuesday.

"We need to see how Owen Moxon is. Paul Huntington won’t be available, Taylor Charters won’t be available, Fin Back won’t be available, Jack Ellis it’s still too early. Jack Robinson is suspended.

"We’re going to have to see who we can get out there. If we can go and get the performance right, hopefully that will give everybody a lift and it'll take everybody into our next league fixture."
