On Tuesday 17th October the Carlisle United Academy launched its Christmas Shoe Box Appeal in conjunction with St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary School in Carlisle as part of the annual Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child campaign.

This week our Head of Education Scott Taylor invited Luke Denny, Headteacher at St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary School, to attend academy training and to speak to some of them about why his school and others in the city sign up every year to the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child campaign and the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.
Pictured is U9 academy player Casper Ostvowski handing over his personalised Christmas shoebox to U18 youth team apprentice Sam Hetherington, Luke Denny (Headteacher at St Margaret Mary Catholic Primary School) and Scott Taylor (Head of Education at Carlisle United).
The last day for dropping off shoeboxes to academy staff at Brunton Park is Thursday 16 November so Mr Denny can collate them together with those at his school and ensure they are delivered in time for Christmas.
