United ended their season with an away game against Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday afternoon.
And possibly one of the youngest youth teams ever fielded (with four under 15s, an under 14 and a smattering of u16s who will become first years next season involved) put on a battling and impressive performance.
"I'm really pleased with all of them," youth boss Mark Birch said. "They played well, created chances and worked really hard.
"It was looking like a draw until almost the last kick of the day when a free kick was awarded, and we're not too sure it was even a foul.
"Then we felt there might be an offside when it was taken, and the goal was scored from that.
"That's all disappointing, but it doesn't take away from the fact the lads did really well. They should be pleased with themselves."
