Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to confirm that defender Ben Barclay has had his loan spell with the Blues extended until the end of the current campaign.
However, should the Cumbrians face the Hatters, he will be excluded from that fixture under the terms of the agreement.
Barclay, 26, scored his first goal for the club last month – the winner at Barrow – and has made a total of 15 appearances, including a string of recent man of the match displays.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “Obviously I'm really delighted to get Ben's loan extended.
"I'd like to thank Stockport County for allowing this to happen and for being so understanding.
"We're fully aware that if we do make it to the final, and Stockport are our opponents, he won't be available for that, and that's something we'll just have to deal with.
"It's good that it's done and we now move on and get ready for Sunday's game against Bradford."
