The Carlisle United Community Sports Trust team are celebrating yet another traineeship progression success; for a student who has recently completed the programme.
Kyle Ramsbottom was seeking a work placement in landscaping as part of his traineeship journey.
Mr Barry Cannon, owner & CEO of Cannon Gardens & Landscapes, offered to support the traineeship programme by providing a work placement opportunity.
Kyle excelled in his role, and Mr Cannon and his team supported Kyle every step of the way; allowing him to experience all elements of landscaping and even supported him with transportation to and from the various job locations.
As a result of Kyle's work ethic on the programme, Mr Cannon has offered Kyle a paid position within his team.
Kyle’s family are thrilled with the progress Kyle has made on the traineeship programme, and Kyle has achieved his dream job of working outdoors in the landscaping profession.
Teresa Mulholland, CST assistant manager and traineeship coordinator, said: "A huge thank you to Barry Cannon for again supporting our traineeship programme.
"Without employers like this, our trainees would not get the opportunity to undertake work experience in their chosen areas of interest.
"We cannot thank Barry enough for the support he has given the programme and the amazing opportunity he is now giving Kyle. We wish Kyle all the very best in his new employment."
Gillian Harris, Targeted Youth Support Officer from Cumbria County Council, said: "Kyle did not find school easy and often did not attend however, since beginning the CST Traineeship, Kyle has enjoyed a practical work placement that has led to a full-time job.
"This is a brilliant outcome for Kyle and shows that when you find the right support and a thing that interests you, life can turn around for the better."
Sarah McGrath, a principal at Carlisle College, said: "Traineeships are an important part of what we offer, providing valuable work experience and employer engagement to those who participate, and I'm very proud of Carlisle College's support of the CST Traineeship programme.
"A huge well done to Kyle on his success. It's a wonderful example of the opportunities a traineeship can provide."
