As well as the ongoing work with on-field matters for the season ahead, the club is also gearing up for life in League One behind the scenes, with chief executive Nigel Clibbens highlighting the excellent work done by the admin staff in all departments ahead of the new season.
“Obviously because we didn’t know which division we were going to be in, we had to wait a little bit longer to launch season tickets,” he explained.
“That runs into the kit launch, and you have less time to arrange your friendlies and get your pre-season going, because you need to align your friendlies with the opposition with which division you’re in.
“That makes everything compressed, and there’s no respite for anybody, whereas normally you get to the end of the season and you have time to take a breath. Behind the scenes it’s very, very hectic.”
Speaking about more of the specifics, he added: “We’ve taken steps to expand the Fan Zone, we’re going to double that in size.
“We’ve got another container on order, which will be fantastic for the match day experience. That’s a bit of a project.
“We’ve had a new ticket system that just started around the play-off time, so it’s getting that bedded in.
“We’re trying to launch a new online shop, that’s coming fast on the horizon as well.
“And in terms of getting ready for the season, we’ve got a new pitch to lay, thankfully that’s gone from sandy brown to green - those thunderstorms and a bit of sunshine have been brilliant for us.
“There are a lot of little projects going on, plus all the normal stuff as we get ready for a new season.”
