United's keeping duo Gabe Breeze and Tomas Holy were guests of honour with the Carlisle City U7 squad on Thursday night as the pair joined the young players for their regular training session, at Soccerworld on Rome Street, ahead of the team's visit to Brunton Park on Saturday as part of the Cumberland Community Ticket Scheme.
The session opened with dribbling and shooting drills, with some excellent finishing on show, before attack v defence pitted three, four and five attackers against two defenders.
A penalty shootout wrapped things up, with the team netting some stunners, despite some decent glove work from the senior stoppers.
"It started to rain just before the session started but the lads didn't let that bother them at all," Gabe said. "Credit to their coach [Josh] because he made it fun and enjoyable, both for them and for us, and I'd like to thank everybody for inviting us along."
"The standard of finishing was incredible," Tomas commented. "The shooting and passing drills were the same as we see in a first-team session, and the attitude shown by the players was fantastic.
"Gabe almost got to some of the shots, but they were so accurate he shouldn't beat himself up too much that they all went in."
Thank you to Josh, the parents, guardians and players for inviting us to their Thursday evening session.
We hope you all have a fantastic day on Saturday.
