Jack Armer and Ryan Edmondson both netted their first goals of the season in the 2-2 draw with Northampton on Saturday.
For full-back Armer, it was his first strike since the memorable effort he bagged en route to a 2-1 win at Swindon Town last term.
And while this goal may have been a little bit more fortuitous, manager Paul Simpson believed it was just rewards for a fine performance from the Blues.
"It was a little bit of luck," he admitted.
"I haven't even asked Jack. I'm sure he'll say it's a shot, but it looks a cross.
"I thought we deserved that because of the way we played the football that we played, the way we've got into those wide areas and caused problems.
"I don't care how we score. We've been scrapping around trying to get any sort of luck that we could and people keep saying to me, the only luck we're getting is bad.
"And it's easy to feel sorry for yourself, but nobody cares about those things and you've just got to keep working hard to try and get luck to change.
"I thought if that's what happens, so be it."
Edmondson's goal - a fine header from Jack Robinson's corner - looked to have sealed United victory before Kieron Bowie's late leveller.
And while naturally disappointed, Simpson believes that displaying a similar attitude in upcoming games will yield more satisfying results.
"I thought the delivery for our second goal and the run and the header was outstanding," he added.
"It's exactly what we want from players.
"At the end, we probably should have cleared our lines from the goalkeepers kick, stayed with runners, but saying that it's a still an outstanding finish [from Bowie].
"You know when things are going against you that nestles in the bottom corner. When you're on a good run, it flies over the bar or flashes past one of the posts.
"It just happens to be that we're having those things going against us. And we've just got to dig in and show that sort of attitude that we showed against Northampton and if we do that, then hopefully results will follow."
