United were back at Creighton on Saturday morning with Bolton as the visitors.
Wanderers came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders and two early goals made life hard for the home team.
They kept plugging away in an attempt to turn things round but were caught on the break in the second half as Bolton sealed their victory.
"It definitely wasn't a 0-3 performance," youth boss Mark Birch said. "The lads played well and created some good moments, but we have to be honest and say that the two goals we conceded early on were poor ones to give away.
"That made it a tough ask, but credit to everyone because they dug in and showed a great attitude."
