Members of the Carlisle United Supporters’ Groups (CUSG) will be at Brunton Park ahead of the Salford game on Saturday 29 April to chat with fans about recent and planned projects, and if you feel you are able, will have collection buckets on-hand, should you feel that you want to donate, however big or small!
CUSG provides a forum for supporters to work together in collaboration with representatives of Carlisle United to improve the club, build strong relations and implement supporter focused initiatives.
Such has been the clamour for fans related projects, that funds from the highly successful Christmas raffle have been used on projects including memorabilia restoration and east and west stand bar refurbishments.
Supporter Liaison Officer Simon Clarkson said: “We have seen such an incredible sense of togetherness this season and can be very proud of the projects that we have delivered.
“Fans from across our supporter base, and notably the younger ones, have really stepped up and made a difference. The reality is that as much as we all give our time up for free, and we’re supported by businesses, money is always needed to add that touch of quality to what we’re doing.
“Any spending of funds we raise through the bucket collection will be democratically decided on by the fans. I think that is a brilliant way to approach getting things done.”
Chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: “CUSG initiatives are led by supporters for the benefit of supporters.
“They set the priorities and decide how the money from fans is spent. We give our full support to CUSG and, with more funds, they can play a bigger part in making even more improvements to the match day experience for fans.
“I hope our supporters recognise this and feel that they can donate something this weekend to give CUSG their support.”
