The last soccer school of the summer holidays was held up in Harraby last week, with over 160 children attending to take part in football, gymnastics and dance activities.
And there was an extra special ending to the course on Friday afternoon when skipper Morgan Feeney was joined by Ryan Edmondson, and the pair were greeted with cheers and smiles as they handed out the medals and certificates.
CST assistant manager James Tose said: “The soccer schools have been a great success throughout the summer holidays and they have been made extra special with the player visits.
“On behalf of everyone at the Community Sports Trust we’d like to thank all of the players for giving up their time to visit us at the different venues across Cumbria.
“The player engagement has been absolutely brilliant and it’s much appreciated by all.”
“I know the lads enjoy visiting the summer camps because you can tell how much fun the kids have had,” Morgan said. “They always have a load of questions to ask and the queue goes out the door for selfies and autographs.
“It’s nice to hear from them about what they’ve been getting up to and how they got on in the competitions and sessions they had.
“It’s all really well run and the community staff are excellent, so it makes it a really good afternoon.”
“Visits like these are brilliant to do,” Ryan added. “It’s amazing to see so many children in one place who have clearly had a really enjoyable time.
“If we can add to that when we pop in to see them then it’s even better. Handing out the certificates was a good chance to meet all of them and to listen to what they’d been up to.
“I’d like to thank everybody for inviting us along.”
