United should be closer to knowing the outcome of Jamie Devitt’s Monday night scan with results expected soon – and all fingers firmly crossed.
“It was done at the start of the week but I think the scanners are really busy,” manager Paul Simpson told us. “You normally get the results within 48 to 72 hours, but we’re in their hands.
“Sometimes you can get it earlier. We have to respect they’ve got lots of other people to look at. I would like to think I should get an idea soon, but the way it is, he’s certainly not going to be fit for this weekend.
“It’s not something I’m looking at Dev and thinking if the scan’s alright he’ll be right for Saturday. He won’t be. I think we’re looking at a good few weeks for Jamie to get back fit. Fingers crossed it’s not too serious but we’re just going to have to wait and see.”
