United were up at Creighton for their Saturday morning meeting with Stockport.
United didn't quite get themselves into gear as Stockport started well and kept the momentum away from the hosts.
The Hatters took a one-goal lead into the break, but there were hopes of a resurgence when Nugent levelled things up.
But Stockport regained the lead from a set piece, then worked hard to see their win through.
"We didn't play well at all," youth boss Mark Birch said. "We never really took control at any point and the best we can say is that we got what we deserved."
