First-team players Ben Barclay and Ryan Edmondson made a host of new friends at Ivegill CE Primary School on Friday afternoon with a Q&A session that quickly became a kickabout in the playground with the delighted children.
Topics covered in the main event of the day included questions about their teammates, players they’d played against, what it takes to become a professional, and who their footballing heroes were when they were growing up.
“That was a great afternoon,” Ben told us. “The children had their questions prepared and it made it really enjoyable to sit down and talk to them, because it was all organised so smoothly.
“They were all really interested in what we had to say, they were brilliant hosts, and I’d like to thank them for inviting us along.”
“All of the lads will tell you that these visits are good to do,” Ryan added. “This one was really well organised and the questions were amazing.
“There were some top quality skills on show when we got outside and I think it’s fair to say I picked a few things up that I’ll be taking into games on a Saturday!”
Thank you to everybody at Ivegill, and to the gang at Bimson Haulage, for inviting us along.
