What feels like a rare week without a midweek fixture gave manager Keith Millen the chance to get some serious training time into the legs – with thanks once again to Gretna for the continued use of their facility.
“We had a busy week last week so we had Monday off, and on Tuesday and Wednesday we had two very good sessions,” he confirmed. “We talked about what went wrong against Forest Green, then we moved on from that as we started our preparations for Saturday.
“We’ve had a couple of really good training sessions, and the lads are in a good place. We know about our injured lads and touch wood everyone else is ok.”
With an injury update, he added: “Kelvin is still wait and see. He’s seeing a specialist on Friday, so we will know more on what the extent of the injury and what the treatment’s going to be.
“Gime Toure’s back in training, as in out on the grass, not with us, but doing individual work. He’s improving, probably a couple of weeks away.
“Like I say, everyone else is fighting for their place, and it’s that competition for places I like. It gives me headaches, but I want to know that I have players knocking on the door.
“We have looked at last weekend, but we learn from it and we move on. It’s now about being ready for and looking forward to our next game.”
