The Blues have a run of four wins from their last five league games to protect when Crawley come to town on Saturday and boss Keith Millen admitted that a key part of his work on the back of this more than decent spell is to make sure that the focus remains sharp.
“I think that’s the most important part of my job building up to Saturday,” he agreed. “I need to remind them of what they’re doing well, we’ve done video work on Crawley today and shown how dangerous they are.
“Complacency for me is a key word. We have to avoid that and we have to keep improving our standards. Our running stats are improving all the time, there’s a lot of good things we’re doing, so I’m pleased with that, but we still have to keep improving.
“As far as what other teams think of us, I’m not too worried. If they do underestimate us maybe that will help us. I think when you look at us now, you can see a very strong organised hard-working team that has a real threat to them as well.
“I was pleased with our possession stats on Saturday, but I still want more end product when you dominate possession like we do, certainly at home. I’m still trying to get a bit more of an end product, just work the goal a little bit more.
“I’m being a bit greedy, but maybe more goalscoring opportunities is where I see us trying to improve a bit more.
“The form is good, the players are playing well, but it can mask some problems if you are winning games, and sometimes you think we’re actually ok.
“That’s why you have to keep alert in the transfer window. When you look in the cold light of day you could be one injury away from being short in a certain position.
“It’s great everyone’s fit, but you know around the corner something might change that. We are looking at every possibility of something changing. We’re still active in the market because of that.”
