Fleetwood took the bragging rights when these sides met in FA Youth Cup action at Brunton Park last month.
But it was important league action this time round for two teams who have been trundling along in the upper reaches of the division so far this season.
It was United who took the honours with a first-half goal from Nic Bollado complemented by an own goal after the break.
"It was an excellent overall performance," youth boss Mark Birch told us. "We went into the break a goal up and that was thoroughly deserved off the way we played.
"We kept the tempo high after the break and we could actually have scored more goals.
"The lads can feel very pleased with what they did."
