Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to confirm that Chris Brunskill will be returning to Brunton Park as our head physiotherapist, taking his place in the first-team dugout for the first time for the Boxing Day visit of Bradford City.
Brunskill, 32, is no stranger to the club having volunteered to assist with the first team between 2011 and 2014.
He also gained valuable experience with Penrith and Middlesbrough during that period, before coming on board full-time with our academy as a sports therapist in 2014.
He was elevated to the position of head academy physio in 2017 and joined Blackburn Rovers in 2021 where he first worked with the under-23s before stepping up to cover the first-team squad.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “I’m delighted that Chris has agreed to return to the club.
“His was the standout application and he has shown a great desire to want to come back.
“I look forward to working with him and I hope he’ll become an integral part of our backroom staff for years to come.”
