Ahead of the Bristol Rovers home game last Saturday we welcomed our latest recruits to the Carlisle United Academy ranks with the signing of next season's under 9's players before kick-off.
The group were greeted by first team players Jamie Devitt and Callum Guy, and also Chelsey Shaw who was representing sponsors North Lakes Energy Group, who accompanied the players as they signed their forms.
Having come through pre-academy groups from age seven, these players from various parts of Cumbria have successfully progressed to represent the club.
Foundation phase coach Warren Matthews said: "Going forward into the academy foundation phase, the lads will now hopefully find the positive learning environment of the academy empowering, challenging and fun, both through the training sessions and games programme when playing against various other professional academies.
"We at the academy looked forward to working with these players when the seasons resumes in early August."
