Midfielder Josh Dixon is back on the recovery trail this week following an operation on his knee which should see him back in action within the month.
Dixon, 20, overcame consecutive ACL injuries to get himself back in the fold during the summer but suffered a minor setback with a completely unrelated niggle.
“Josh had an operation on his knee and it’s been advised that it might be three to four weeks rather than the initial possible 10-14 days for his recovery,” manager Chris Beech revealed. “That’s probably because of his past in terms in terms of the interventions on his knee that he’s had previously.
“That’s just the way it is and unfortunately it means he’ll probably miss a month’s worth of football.”
But there was some good news fellow midfielder Danny Devine now back in full training.
“It’s been great to see Danny back at it,” he said. “He looks good, and I’m really pleased about that.
“He’s available for the weekend but all of our players are in my thoughts. As you know, we don’t have a massive squad, but we do have young and ambitious players around it and supporting it.
“We’ll get to Friday, get to Sutton and see where we all are, but what I can say is that Danny is an integral part of our squad.”
