It was a rearranged away fixture for the Blues on Saturday morning as they faced Rochdale in the first of a double-header of weekend meetings between the sides.
And Rochdale grabbed a late winner to leave the Blues with nothing to show for their efforts.
Youth boss Mark Birch said: "It was a below par performance, we weren't on our game at all, and the way we lost sums the day up.
"We're disappointed, but we'll learn from it and we'll go again next week."
