CLUB: An update on government Coronavirus guidance

In-line with Government Coronavirus guidance, and following a recent all-club EFL meeting on the’ Return of Fans’ we can confirm that Carlisle United will be adhering to the following, until further notice:

HANDS:

We ask fans to continue to wash their hands and use the sanitisers, which will be available around the stadium in increased quantities.

Please use contactless payments where available.

FACE:

All club employees will wear face coverings in their interaction with supporters and visitors. This includes shop staff, staff stewards, catering staff, programme sellers and ticket office staff.

We recommend, encourage and will promote the wearing of face coverings whilst on the stadium site, and when in the Blues Store and Neil Centre.

In particular, this is especially the case when inside the stadium buildings, in queues or within 2 metres of others, or when in areas that can become congested, such as concourses, toilets and vomitories.

If you want to wear a face covering please feel free to do so. It’s your choice. Please respect the right of fellow supporters to wear a face covering, or not, if they wish.

This is in-line with Government guidance to wearing face coverings in crowded areas, such as public transport and retail outlets, and to try to minimise the amount, duration and proximity of social contacts if you can, and remain outdoors as much as possible.

We will not be enforcing this guidance. It is recommended, but entirely voluntary.

SPACE:

Please give each other space. If fellow supporters ask you to give them ‘space’- please respect that request.

We ask supporters to spread out their entry and exit when they arrive and depart to avoid congestion.

We ask supporters to space out in the terraced areas at matches, and when waiting. We have plenty of room to make this happen – please show respect and consideration at all times.

The club will be implementing a new Fan Code of Conduct to reflect these arrangements. It will be in place before the Blackpool friendly on 24 July 2021 and all supporters must adhere to it as a requirement of entry.

Further information to follow. These arrangements will be kept under review.

Even before the new announcements we decided to continue to implement a Social Distancing Zone for fans who have ongoing concerns and who want to continue to retain ‘space.’

In Section 8 of the Pioneer Stand we will operate two-metre spacing and mandatory face covering at all times, with increased stewarding.

In all other areas we ask fans to respect each other and follow the guidance.

We encourage you to keep up to date with the current Government and NHS advice and guidelines on Coronavirus.
