The Blues head to the One Call Stadium tonight to face a Mansfield side who have found their feet following a tough start to the campaign.
Now six weeks into the job, boss Keith Millen admitted that he’s enjoying the challenge, both in its variety and the business of the schedule.
“I’m enjoying the job more every day,” he admitted. “There are different challenges every day, but I knew it was a big challenge when I came here, nothing has changed my mind on that.
“I’ve got no worries, I’ve seen it before and dealt with it before, it’s about prioritising what you can deal with on a day-to-day basis.
“Today’s priority is Mansfield, then we’ll see what tomorrow brings.”
“This game will be a tough test,” he added. “Sometimes you go to clubs who are on a bad run and things like that, but at the moment Mansfield seem to be in a good place.
“They had a great cup win on Saturday and they’ve had some positive league results. They’ve picked up their form but we’ve got no fear.
“We’ll respect them and try to work out what they’re going to do, but we have to try and make sure we perform to our best and hopefully that will be enough.”
And with an injury update, he said: “Magnus Norman is going to travel with us, which is great news.
“Zach Clough has gone to see a specialist, so he won’t be available. Kelvin Mellor is better than we first expected, so we’re going to see how he is before we travel.
“Everyone else from the weekend is ok, and we’ve obviously got Jon Mellish back available which is someone else in the squad who will be fresh.
“We couldn’t do a lot on Monday because of how the pitch is after all the rain, but we did enough and the lads are in good spirits. They’re looking forward to the challenge.”
