Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce that local company Thomas Graham will be our official front of shirt sponsor for the 2021/22 season.
Long-standing supporters of the club, Thomas Graham will be celebrating 130 years of trading next season, having set out on their journey with just six members of staff from a small ironmonger’s shop and steel warehouse on Lowther Street here in Carlisle way back in 1892.
Chairman Andrew Jenkins said: “It’s fantastic that another extremely well-known and successful local company will be taking pride of place on the front of our shirts next season.
“Thomas Graham have a significant presence in Carlisle, and around the wider region, and they have always been there for us, supplying steel and materials for groundworks, stadium repairs and enhancements for many, many years, and often at the drop of a hat.
“Roger Smith has been a vice-president and strong friend of the club for a number of years. He’s a huge supporter and is at many games with us, when Covid restrictions allow.
“It’s good for all parties to be able to develop our commercial relationship in this way.”
Director of football David Holdsworth said: “Having secured a new two-year deal with kit suppliers ERREA we were obviously keen to finalise the shirt sponsorship deal, and I immediately thought of Roger and Thomas Graham.
“Roger is Carlisle United through and through, and it made sense to me to open discussions to see if we there were avenues we could explore with such a prominent local business.
“As soon as I mentioned it to Roger, I could see that he was very intrigued and excited by the idea, and we actually reached an agreement within a matter of days, which is just superb.
“We’re definitely excited by it. Once again, we are demonstrating just how important it is to think locally and to work as a community, wherever and whenever we can.
“On behalf of the club I would like to welcome Thomas Graham on board for the 2021/22 season and I know we’re all looking forward to seeing our players wear the shirt with the new logo for what we hope will be another successful season.”
“I’d also like to go on record with a thank you to EWM for their sponsorship of our shirts over the course of the past four seasons,” he added. “Their logo first appeared for the 2017/18 season and their support has been fantastic.
“Having spoken to them, I know they’re delighted that we’ve been able to marry up with a strong, recognisable brand in Thomas Graham, and they have passed on their best wishes to Roger and his team and to Carlisle United for the 2021/22 campaign.”
Roger Smith, managing director of Thomas Graham (pictured above with chairman Andrew Jenkins and his father Ian), said: “We are delighted to be able to help out at short notice and it is a dream come true for us.
“We have always tried to be involved and support the community as much as we can.
“We are excited to have the Thomas Graham name and logo on the shirts next season and we wish Chris and his players a successful finish to the current campaign.”
