With the Blues appearing to have come through Tuesday night’s home victory unscathed boss Chris Beech gave us an update on injured duo Danny Devine and Morgan Feeney.
“We know about Brennan [Dickenson] and Rhys [Bennett] already, but in the shorter-term we have Danny Devine and Morgan Feeney who are edging closer,” he told us.
“I have this tackle bag thing I do. Danny was involved in that in midfield, tackling, getting up, regain, retain the ball, getting shots on goal, and he was icing his knee after it. He’s fine, but you have to take the player through the next stage of that.
“He’s fit, he played in a reserve game, but he wasn’t quite right for Tuesday night. Morgan, we’re in this reserve cup final, to play Bournemouth, it’s at St George’s.
“I think Sarah McKnight’s having a word with Gav about looking at doing it later in the year, so hopefully Morgan can play in that too.
“Without speaking to Ross [club physio] I think he’s maybe a couple of weeks or maybe a bit longer. He’s a great lad, his attitude’s very good, his rehab’s been clean, he’s getting on with it.
“I know we’ve signed him to be involved and play, like we have everybody, but he’s not there yet. He will be soon, hopefully.”
