United came out of a feisty encounter with a 2-1 victory on Saturday morning, having played the bulk of the second half with just 10 men.
The Blues dominated the first period, and they deservedly took a two-goal cushion into the break courtesy of goals from Sam Fishburn and Ryan Swailes.
But they were pegged back with just a minute on the second half clock when Morecambe were awarded a penalty.
That was smashed into the net, and things became tougher for the hosts when Josh Barnett was given a straight red card for a late challenge just two minutes later.
Fishburn rattled the post when he had the chance to restore the two-goal advantage, and both teams fought hard through what was a tense final 20 minutes.
More details to follow.
