The Blues face Morecambe at Brunton Park tonight, and we caught up with manager Chris Beech to get his thoughts ahead of the game.
“It’s a great fixture and it’s a shame our fans can’t come,” he said. “I feel sorry for them that they’re missing out at the moment because we want to share our efforts with them.
“We’ve had some tough games against Morecambe, and there’s some daft stat that we struggle at home against them.
“Last year I remember they scored early, Wildig’s volley, stuff like that out of nothing. We got back in it with Omari just before half time and we slogged it out, and I have no doubts it will be another tough match.”
“Every game is an opportunity so it’s one we’re looking forward to,” he added. “I don’t mind the games coming thick and fast, and the players have been playing so well it makes it hard to think about changing things too much.
“Players who aren’t playing have got to make me change my mind. That’s why those who are playing have got to keep standards high, so we’ll be looking for another good set of performances tonight.
“Derek [Adams] has had them playing well so far and they’ve picked up some excellent results. He’s another good manager who knows how to get his team playing well but, as ever, it comes down to us.
“We want to continue our run, don’t we, but nothing comes easy. We have to earn it and that’s what we’ll be working hard to achieve.”
